I have been teaching at Jungman for over 25 years. I will once again be teaching 6th-8th grade ELA/SS. As a Hispanic bilingual teacher (fluent in English and Spanish) , I knew that I wanted to work in a school where I would be able to use my skills and knowledge to teach and inspire children to grow and be successful in their future. I absolutely LOVE Jungman School because our school community is like a FAMILY where we all work hard together towards a common goal to help each other progress for the good of our school communityās success. Some of my greatest accomplishments is ensuring a 100% 8th grade graduation rate in June by providing the middle school students with a rigorous ELA/SS curriculum. I have established partnerships with Writerās Theater, UIC, Junior Achievement, Illinois Holocaust Museum, and others to make that possible . When Iām not working at Jungman, I dedicate all of my time to my family. We love to participate in all kinds of adventures from biking, walking, movie watching, or traveling. Reading, playing video games & board games, watching TV & movies, listening to music & going to concerts, going to comic and anime conventions, traveling, cooking, improving my Spanish, spending time with family & friends. Born and raised in Chicago. Mix of european backgrounds (German, Irish, Spanish, French). Third out of 4 kids. Proud aunt to 2 nephews and 2 nieces. Telekinesis because I think it would be cool to move things with my mind, and I could also use it to help people by creating barriers, moving people out of danger, getting people things they need.

2020 was my first year at Jungman. I came to this school because of all the wonderful things going on at Jungman. I am interested in staying to be part of an amazing team. I am looking forward to meeting the students and parents! I have accomplished many things throughout my teaching career. I have furthered my education, watched children grow and have had so many wonderful experiences. When I am not working at Jungman I like to travel, spend time with my family and take pictures. I am married and have three children. We love to be on the go and learn and see new things. Other than teaching, if I could have ONE superpower, I would love to be able to fly. I would travel the world and see and learn new things!

I have been at Jungman since 2021. I was drawn to this school because of my love for the Pilsen community. I am not a talented cook but I love trying new foods and recipes. I like to spend time with my family. I enjoy outdoor adventure and love to travel. I am a Chicago Native. Other than teaching, if you could have ONE superpower, what would it be and why? I would love to have the ability to be in two places at one time!

I graduated from Jungman in 2013 and came to work here recommended by one of my middle school teachers. I started working at Jungman in 2017. I keep coming back because of the amazing/loving environment my co-workers have created. I love learning new languages! I am currently fluent in three. But, I am trying to add two more to the list. When iām not working I love to watch crime shows. I also like to dance and draw. Spending time with my little cousin is an awesome bonus! I am an only child, raised by my beautiful/independent mom. I will also soon be a Wife to my best friend. If I could have a superpower it would be teleportation. To be at one place and then be at another in a matter of seconds, it would totally freak people out.

How long have you been at Jungman ? What drew you to this school? What keeps you here? I am starting my 14th year in CPS. I worked at Jungman from 2007-2010 and came back to Jungman in 2018. I was really intrigued about the process of a neighborhood school turning into a STEM Magnet school. I am here because of the students! List any awards, accomplishments, or special talents you may have. Most improved Student in 8th grade and Tennis MVP in High School are all Iāve got for awards! What do you like to do when not working at Jungman? I love to cook, read, exercise and talk. And shop. What is your family background? We moved a lot when I was a kid but Iāve lived mostly in Chicago and the Western Suburbs. All of my immediate family is now back in the suburbs. Other than teaching, if you could have ONE superpower, what would it be and why? Iād love to be invisible. Would give me great insight on many things!
Ms. Janine Bright
Iāve been teaching for over 30 years now. I have been at Jungman since 2017. I love Jungman because of the supportive administration and diversity of the students and staff. Jungman has the best students! In my past, I designed clothing and I loved performing in the award winning dance choir at Whitney Young H.S. Go Dolphins! I play the piano and shoot and edit videos and commercials. In my free time, I love to play video games, watch movies, take care of my cats and manage my investment accounts. Iām an animal lover and my house was once a zoo with 16 pets; cats, dogs and stinky pet ferrets. Now, I live with my husband and 2 kitties. If I could have a super power, I would want to be able to FLY and soar high above with the rest of the Jungman Eagles!
