At Jungman STEM Magnet School, all students have full access to our magnet program, grounded in clear, transparent, and consistently applied entrance and assignment policies established in partnership with Chicago Public Schools. These policies, supported by the GoCPS lottery system, are reviewed each year using application, acceptance, enrollment, and demographic data to ensure they remain equitable, current, and effective.

CPS magnet schools specialize in specific subject areas and accept students from throughout the city. Testing is not required and the only eligibility requirement is to be a resident of the city of Chicago. If you are interested in attending Jungman, you can apply during the fall and spring!

When you send your child off to school for the first time, there are many questions. You may be wondering, how will they handle all of the new experiences? Our teachers work hard at making transitions easier by partnering with our parents. Each child is known and equipped to accomplish their full potential through educational play.
We offer both half-day and full-day PreK options for ages 3-5 to give you the flexibility that you deserve!

Jungman STEM Magnet is committed to ensuring all students have reliable access to our school.
- Chicago Public Schools currently provides limited magnet transportation for some enrolled magnet students. The district is exploring a hub-site transportation model for magnet programs, but Jungman STEM Magnet has not yet transitioned to hub-site busing. Families will be notified well in advance if any changes occur.
- Any student with an IEP that includes transportation as a related service will work directly with Jungman STEM Magnet to ensure transportation is provided appropriately and in a timely manner.
- To further support families—especially those who may need additional flexibility with pickup times—Jungman is adding an optional after-care program until 4:30 PM at a low, family-friendly rate.
- These supports help ensure that every student, regardless of where they live or what services they require, can fully access our STEM Magnet program.
